My Personal Review:

Another drama of Jang Geun Suk for 2010… Since I’m following JGS, I searched for all his dramas and watched this one. I already finished it  before the airing on ABS-CBN (July 2011) I only bought a DVD because of JANG GEUN SUK! ♥ Nothing else aside from that…(hahaha!)

Mary is a curly-haired girl living her life haunted with debts of her father. Mary and her father keep on hiding.

To end their misery, Mary’s father met his long time friend and now a millionaire to arrange deal – Mary will marry his son and all their debts will be cleared.

Mary’s father insist her to agree on the deal but Mary does not want to.

On the other hand, Michael (JGS) is a cool, arrogant and selfish lead vocalist and guitarist of a rock band in Hondae . He happened to met Mary in an accident.

After this, some of Mary’s friends suggest that if she pretends she loved Michael maybe his father will not insist her to marry Justin (the rich guy) who happened to be her child hood friend .

The humor is there and I keep on laughing when Mary and Michael are pretending to be lovers.

My most remembered/ favorite line  in the drama is :

Mary: What’s the most important love, hope or loyalty?

Michael: Love.?

Mary: No. Loyalty .:)

I believe in order to sustain lasting relationship love  is not enough. There are so many factors needed to protect and work on relationship like effort, loyalty, trust, affection.

Only God’s love all but when it comes to a girl-boy relationship in particular it requires a lot of things to work .

The soundtracks are good primarily  because I admire Jang Geun Suk who sang some songs.

I believe the actors did a good job. They are all effective . Even though I was kinda annoyed in Mary’s stubbornness, I still love  her character because I can relate on her some way.  The only problem is the storyline. Sorry but I’m not satisfied on the ending. It’s an open ending. Changing writers on productions is not really good. I guess so. But in any way, still thumbs up for this drama.

RATING:  6 out of 10

  1. It sounds like a substantial movie anyway, in spite of the inconclusive ending.

It is terrible that in Korea that parents’ debts can affect the offspring so much. I know of a guy who got a much lower military ranking because of his father’s debts placed in his own name! In Canada, this can happen when the parents die, but not before. In the US, only Florida is this way, that I know of.
