Is a fun, informative and an easy-read book perfect for young people especially students. Generally, the discussions in the book are about superheroes stories relevance to the world of youth, the value of vision and leadership. You can bring it conveniently anywhere because it’s not hardbound. You can talk about it too with your friends anywhere. As for the teachers, they will definitely use this book for class discussions and literary project. It’s really educational and worth reading. The book cover is simple and appropriate for its content.
About my reading experience, I finished the book within 5 hours. I was able to do shower and eat within those hours. It’s only my time estimation. I just want to finish it right away since the book is thin. I’m confident to be a fast-reader with this kind of book. HAHA! It’s a success. (Honestly, I am a slow reader…it’s a secret…>.<)
How did I get to know this book?
Every day I’m always checking my Gmail. Then, I received an email from Mighty Rasing. My first impression is it was a name for a unique blog awards name such as Liebster award or a blog title/ pen name. I continued reading anyway. Later I realized it’s the name of the author. (Oh… haha,, what a cute name..)It’s a Book Review Request. I’m glad because it’s the first time someone asked me to make a book review. It’s an achievement for me. I got Mighty Rasing’s book for FREE! via LBC. That’s the bonus part!

Mighty Rasing as a writer/author
Mighty Rasing’s writing style in this book is straight forward and approachable. Using Superheroes as metaphors with the values he wanted to raise is creative. I also love his humor. I like the way he connect Spiderman’s web to the technology’s WORLD WIDE WEB. He’s also fond of incorporating quotes from famous people in history like Albert Einstein and even Mark Zuckerberg (Facebook CEO, The youngest billionaire in history!) which really helps to understand more his point of view. You can also read several bible quotes related to certain topics.
Quotable Quotes that I love in this book:
“Leadership is influence, nothing more, nothing less” – John Maxwell
“We can’t solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them”
– Albert Einstein
“You’re here to be a light, bringing out the God –colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We’re going public with this, as a public as a city on a hill. If I make you a light bearers, you don’t think I am going to hide you under a bucket do you? I’m putting you on a light stand – shine! Keep open house, be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you’ll prompt people to open up with God, this generous father in heaven.”- (Matthew 5 14-16)
“I think it’s important if you’re going to take on any big challenge, that you just love and really have faith in what you doing. That I think is the most important advice I would say.”
– Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook CEO
“I tell you the truth anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done and even greater works, because I am going to be with the father.”
- John 14:12, NLT
These quotes are truly inspiring, right? It helped me understand more what Mighty Rasing wants to point out in this book. I also learned in this book the importance of BEING BALANCE in four aspects: Intellectual, Physical, Social and Spiritual. You must have a solid balance of these aspects to become an effective leader. Most likely, the value of Leadership was clearly given emphasis. I also have my other favorite topics in this book: The 10,000 hour rule, Discover your passion and Use Conflict as an opportunity to grow.
I like The 10,000 hour rule. It’s like a trivia for me because I didn’t know that there is a certain time limit for you to master one skill. I even computed it. It’s like 1 year. I learned it with this topic. The example used is “playing the guitar”. I can relate to it because I play the guitar. In training, hard work, patience and discipline are the basic things you really need to consider. If you want to be expert on anything, you need these two to achieve your goal. Discovering your passion starts everything. Nothing will happen if you don’t have anything that drives you passionate about. As for me, I discover my passion since high school. I love writing. I was recognized because of it. Eventually, blogging become a trend so that makes me a blogger now. My website “WORDS AND RHYTHM” is the result of my enthusiasm for writing. I still believe that one day I’ll receive more recognition with what I am doing right now. Simply because, I love what I’m doing. I will never ever give up on this. It’s my purpose. Aside from writing, I also have this passion for music. Also, one of things I really enjoy in this life. Use Conflict as an opportunity to grow. Conflicts are inevitable. You can’t avoid it. So just accept the fact that you’ll encounter it. The thing you need to do is to prepare yourself with this kind of situation. Conflict will test you but it can also bring the best in you as a growing individual.
Obviously, the target readers for this book are students (Filipino Youth). It doesn’t really matter because the topics can also be applicable lessons for working adults. I appreciate the book. I want to state more and more topics but I guess you need to grab a copy for you to experience the whole book. HAHA!
Here’s my opinion about the Youth of Today. (Millennium babies) The following issues are based on my observation.
- Lack of Discipline
- Drowned in Mediocrity
- Super Media Dependency
- Rotten Values (Please Respect Adults)
- Self-Centered Lifestyle ( My every second activity on INSTAGRAM or FACEBOOK)
They need to delete this kind of attitudes. Change for the better. Every person has their own potentials to contribute in the world’s better progress. Always remember “MAY POWERS KA to be #SUPEREPIC! Wag mong sayangin. Kilos na!”
