The Avengers, Age of Ultron (2015) : Movie Review

When Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) jump-starts a dormant peacekeeping program, things go terribly awry, forcing him, Thor (Chris Hemsworth), the Incredible Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) and the rest of the Avengers to reassemble. As the fate of Earth hangs in the balance, the team is put to the ultimate test as they battle Ultron, a technological terror hell-bent on human extinction. They admit they can’t battle with alone as a team so they Tony Stark once again invented a humanoid/mutant/alien called Vision. Along the way, they encounter two mysterious and powerful newcomers, Pietro (Quick Silver) and Wanda Maximoff (Scarlett Witch).

The Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015) is about Science Fiction, Humanity , Family, Action and Adventure. This movie doesn’t only show it’s consistent the thrilling futuristic action-packed scenes but also it discuss the beauty of humanity, siblings love (the twin mutants) and importance of family (in Hawkeye point of view).

The story focused with Team Avengers stopping the Ultron program which is created by Tony Stark (Ironman) and Bruce Banner (Hulk) with its false mission to destroy humanity.  With the Avengers mission, the creation of vision to equate Ultron’s power also happened.

Robert Downy as Tony Stark/ Iron Man

A self-described genius, billionaire, playboy and philanthropist with an eletectromechanical suit of armor of his own invention.

Chris Evans as Steve Rogers/ Captain America

A World War 2 veteran who was enhanced to peak of human physicality by an experimental serum and frozen in suspended animation before waking up in the modern world.

Mark Ruffalo as Bruce banner/ Hulk

A genius scientist who was exposure to gamma radiation that cause him to transform into a monster when enraged or agitated.

Chris Hemsworth as Thor

The Crown Prince of Asgard, based on the Norse mythological deity of the same name. He fights with his powerful hammer.

Clint Barton as Hawkeye

A master archer working as an agent for SHIELD. He’s the only one who can take down the Hulk with his {Tranquilizer-Tripped} arrows.

Paul Bettany as J.A.R.V.I.S. and Vision

A nascent creature being born, being both omnipotent and totally naive, the sort of danger of that and complex nature of a thing being born that is that powerful and that created in a second and the choices he makes morally are really complex and interesting.

Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff / Scarlet Witch:

The twin sister of Quicksilver, who can harness magic and engage in hypnosis and telekinesis

Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Pietro Maximoff / Quicksilver

The twin brother of the Scarlet Witch, who can move at superhuman speed

The visual and sound effects is best as what I am expecting for this science fiction action movie. When I watched this in the super big screen, I can feel I am inside the Jarvis Program even without wearing 3D glasses.

  • Manhattan
  • Avengers Headquarters
  • Hawkeye’s Hometown
  • Church Ruins
  • Mini – bar (For Party Scenes)

Comments and Suggestions

I’ve watch this movie again  in real cinema. This time I am with my close friends.  It’s been a really long time when I got to watch real cinema again. (Whispers: it’s a long story why…)

Okay, let’s get into the movie.  It’s the Age of Ultron.  Others may perceive that it’s about the Era of Ultron in planet Earth.  Thanks to your Genius Brain Tony Stark because this Ultron thing almost made it to Earth’s Metal Rebirth. I actually can’t imagine earth with so many Iron Man ugly replicas. Ultron for me is simply the “evil” side of Iron Man.

As for the new characters, Quick Silver and Scarlet Witch are some mutants that are being recruited by Ultron. They followed Ultron at first not knowing Ultron’s true mission in world destruction not just taking revenge to Avengers. Eventually upon discovering the truth, they decided to take the Avengers side in the end.

Vision was also created because of the doubt that Avengers can’t handle this chaos only with them as a team. They need something that will equate Ultron when it comes to power. Vision is a reddish humanoid like alien that has Thor body build up – like. He can even lift Thor’s Hammer. I really laughed at that part. He’s strong. I think it’s a good idea to have him in the Avengers team.

My most favorite part is when Vision is talking to the last Ultron. Vision and Ultron talk about humanity, its flaws, and its beauty. (Okay, this is the redeeming factor/ Deus Ex machina for the whole story after that so many Hype- Technology scenes)  Then, the screen is bathed in a bright yellow, the hue of the Infinity Stone lodged in Vision’s forehead. It is implied that Vision destroys the robot (in a really beautiful way). And, I love it!

Ultron: “You’re unbearably naive.”

Vision: “Well, I was born yesterday.”

Overall, Age of Ultron is just a so-so film.  It gave a some teaser for the next film at the end of watching this movie. (The Purple Mcdo Grimace like Alien from Guardians of the Galaxy as what my source told me) You can’t say that it’s the best film ever to your friends. Though…If you want to enjoy a weekend with a movie, I can recommend this film to you.

  1. Nice review 🙂

I love the last quotes between Ultron and Vision.

In the end Guardian Of The Galaxy seems like the most powerful villain ever. If you browse those infinity stones, their powers seems too powerful even for Avengers to handle.

      3. Yup I know the drawback. You just need to have connection sometimes in real life but there is never a perfect in something and I prefer this way 🙂

      4. Yeah right! coz if everything is perfect… First, it’s gonna boring. Second, There’s no room for growth… Then, we’re gonna be just robots… *sigh* Sometimes, i appreciate imperfections..
